Communications
For member communications, email addresses must be bcc’d.
Standard information and communications may be bcc’d to the Primary Emails.
Confidential information will not be sent via an employer’s email server. Please use the Home Email list. The PEA Office will send confidential information to home email addresses and/or posted on the PEA website behind a secure, password-protected portion of the site. Contact us with any questions.
The following is the standard information pertaining to access to lists:
The PEA provides local representatives with access to lists of the members in their own jurisdiction for the sole use of membership record maintenance and assisting members in the jurisdiction. Included on the following pages is the contact list of members in your jurisdiction(s).
Local Representatives have a responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of membership lists in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and Association Executive policy. Membership lists are to be held private and confidential and are not to be shared with any other individual or organization. Please ensure that you store your membership list in a secure manner to protect and maintain the confidentiality of member information. If you export a list, please delete or destroy/shred any older lists.
Email guidelines will be provided to local reps when they are provided member emails, in order to comply with Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL).
Do not send email of the following nature:
- Any offers of sale
- Contests or raffles
- Emails which encourage members to purchase or sign up for additional goods and services
- Email sent to members inviting them to participate in an auction, tournament or other event to raise money for a registered charity
- Email sent to members encouraging them to attend an education seminar for which they will be charged
